Description: This is a wonderful full-page color plate by Louis Sargent from a rare, expensive book that was published about 100 years ago. It has a wonderful pastel or chalk feel to the painting style. It depicts a Hanuman Langur Monkey from India, called a Lungoor back then. A building in traditional Indian style is in the bacground (the Taj Mahal?). The print has a blank back, meaning it was printed separately from the text for better quality and then tipped in or sewn into the book when it was bound. It would look wonderful framed.
