Description: This listing is for six original softcover books. Free shipping to any of the 50 U.S. states. All six of these volumes are: BULLETIN OF THE NEW YORK STATE MUSEUM - Published by University of the State of New York Albany. All of these articles were written by William M. Beauchamp. William Martin Beauchamp (1830 - 1925) was an Episcopal clergyman and one of the foremost historians and researchers of New York Indian archaeology and ethnology. He wrote over a dozen articles on specific aspects of New York Indian history and the articles used by them. (I have other Beauchamp articles/books in my other ebay listings.) The greatest feature of these articles, I believe, are in each of them the plentiful and wonderful plates - illustrations showing the articles/implements/ornaments. These items include items the New York Indians made (stone & pottery) and items that were traded to them (primarily metallic.) None of these bulletins are easy to find. I believe these six are the most interesting of Beachamp's articles as far as showing actual implements/ornaments. Here are all 6 - all original - all in one place for one price. The six volumes are as follows: 1. 1897 - ABORIGINAL CHIPPED STONE IMPLEMENTS OF NEW YORK. 79 text pages and 23 plates. Arrowheads of all sorts. 2. 1897 - POLISHED STONE ARTICLES USED BY THE NEW YORK ABORIGINES BEFORE AND DURING EUROPEAN OCCUPATION. 89 text pages and 35 plates. Includes birdstones, bannerstones, axes, pipes, etc. 3. 1898 - EARTHENWARE OF THE NEW YORK ABORIGINES. about 70 text pages and 33 plates. Pottery and pipes of all sorts. 4. 1902 - HORN AND BONE IMPLEMENTS OF THE NEW YORK INDIANS. about 87 text pages and 43 plates. Horn and bone items of all sorts, such as awls, fish hooks, decorative items, etc. 5. 1902 - METALLIC IMPLEMENTS OF THE NEW YORK INDIANS. 78 text pages and 38 plates. includes spear points (several look to be old copper culture), knives, trade axes, pipe tomahawks, kettles, pipes, etc. 6. 1903 - METALLIC ORNAMENTS OF THE NEW YORK INDIANS. 100 text pages and 37 plates. Includes rings, crosses, medals, pins, brooches and more. Overall condition of the volumes is very good. For the most part, no interior markings, stains, foxing. No torn pages. Only one volume with a minimal library stamp. All text and illustrations clean and clear. Bindings sound. The "Horn & Bone" volume had library added covers - done long ago. Returns accepted with full refund if you are not satisfied. (You would need to pay return shipping.) Sorry, no sales to Canada or anywhere other than 50 U.S. states. Books will be well packaged, insured and shipped at my cost. If you visit someone, and you see no books in their house - Run Away! Run Away! RM-1
