Description: Original Analog: JONI MITCHELL, CLOUDS - First Edition Misprint Cover Near Mint Original Analog: JONI MITCHELL, CLOUDS - First Pressing Misprint Cover Near Mint Description Offered is the First Edition ("misprint") Pressing of the Grammy-winning album Clouds, by Joni Mitchell. Both the LP and the album cover are in superb, Near Mint Investment Grade condition. The authentic First Edition Pressings are identified as "misprints". Here are some of those identifying features of our offering here: While this 1st Edition cover is technically a "misprint", what this turns out to mean is that subsequent covers were "corrected". An outstanding feature of this cover is the fresh and vibrant colors not seen in the subsequent printings. This is most obvious on the front cover with Joni's self portrait - in later editions the colors are more muted. In this regard, the "misprint" is a qualitative improvement. This is a Santa Maria pressing (indicated by the etched backward S), orange & tan label design, first sleeve version with uncorrected seams in rear cover painting. The sleeve error dates it to the first pressings of 1969. The first version also contains orange printing of the W7/Reprise logo in top right of jacket front; later corrected artwork versions contain this in dark printing. Released in a gatefold sleeve, with 'Commemorating Ten Years' company inner. The 1st issues have botched artwork on the rear sleeve – a vertical seam visible through the image (please see our Photo Gallery for a close-up of this). This was airbrushed out on subsequent issues. These copies are from 1969 only, so all have the 2-tone Reprise/W7 labels.
