At the end of the 17th century, Bohemia abandoned its specific style and adopted the technique of coloring Venetian glass. His most remarkable production consisted of elegant vases, engraved and faceted cut, but without the addition of some accessories and without the lightness of the Venetian. In the 1870s, the region was connected to the railway, thanks to which it was possible to use coal in glass furnaces to a large extent, new technologies used in the production of glasses and new engraving techniques caused the phenomenon of Czech cut glass to soon become one of the most important in Europe. Technical improvements in production caused demand to grow and a great expansion began, which was interrupted only by the economic crisis that occurred in the 1930s and the subsequent world war. After the expulsion of the German population from Czechoslovakia after the war, many factories had to be closed, however the prestige survived with international exhibitions: Expo 1958 in Brussels, exhibitions in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Delhi, India, New York and Corning, USA, Expo 1967 in Montreal and Expo 1970 in Osaka. Each of these exhibitions brought greater fame to the exhibited glass products and made the manufacturers or cities, such as Novy Bor, famous (Wiki).
