As this was one of the first major blockbusters to emerge in the new CGI animated technology space, there was some uncertainty as to how the public might respond to the film. As such, in the final days before the film's release, there was only minimal merchandising available. In order to thank the cast and crew who had prepared for the film's launch, this exclusive watch in a tin litho box was issued at the studio. The Swiss watch was created by CRASH AG watches in Bettlach, Switzerland. The company materials within the box provide a brief introduction into the relatively new brand, as it was positioned to claim market share by utilizing recycled aluminum cans to produce their line of watches. Unfortunately, the brand did not last very long and, as such, the CRASH Toy Story watch remains one of the more challenging for collectors to find in recent years. The address noted in the tin box references a small apartment at Grenchenstrasse 16 (Switzerland). Though the building remains, the watch company appears to be long gone. Dimensions: 10" x 4" x .75" Condition: Excellent; tin litho is in very good condition with only one scratch noted within the letter "T" in Toy Story. NOTE: Battery for this watch expired long ago. The battery can be easily replaced at a local watch shop or jeweler. While the watch has never been worn, we have not inspected the internal mechanism and cannot guarantee future use of the watch.
