Description: Vintage original 10.25 x 13.25 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the 1960s biopic war drama, PT 109, released in 1963 by Warner Bros. and directed by Leslie H. Martinson. President John F. Kennedy kept a unique inauguration gift on his desk: a plastic-encased coconut. The tale of that coconut is the heroic story of PT 109. The image depicts an exterior shot on the deck PT boat 109 as Lt. (J.G.) John F. Kennedy looks confidently about him. This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features grease pencil marks and one staple on the recto. Affixed to the verso is a portion of the actual newspaper clipping of this image. It is in fine- condition as shown. Provenance: The Hearst Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
