Description: Blown Glass and Metal Glasses, Felipe Delfinger, Feder's, Cuernavaca, Mex. 1970s Glasses approximately 6.25-6.75”H but vary slightly due to being individually hand blown MCM in style. One cup has a different pattern. See pictures. I have another one in that same pattern with some light rusting. Will include as a bonus. One owner. Purchased in Mexico and brought back to US in 1970s. In excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Metal show light wear but left as is for natural patina. Could be cleaned. A rich, amber-colored glass worked against metal cut into shapes. The Feder's house, with more than 150 years of tradition, was established in the Mexican city of Cuernavaca by a family of German descent. In the 1970's Felipe Delfinger patented a technique called "Vidrio casado con metal" that consisted of blowing glass against and through cut and carved belts of metal, copper and brass--resulting in works of fascinating Brutalist beauty. Using this "imprisoned glass" technique, Delfinger not only created sets of glasses and tumblers--but also chandeliers, lamps, sconces, candelabra, mirrors, vases, and much much more.
