Description: Rare Ansel Adams initialed Special Edition print from mid-1975 This exquisite silver gelatin Moonrise from Glacier Point print seems to have slipped through the cracks of Ansel Adams’ system at a time when his master printer Alan Ross was starting to state on the verso (back) label “Printed by Alan Ross.” As you can see from the photo of the label, there is no “Printed by Alan Ross.” The best estimate is that this 1959 image was printed in “mid-1975.” How many of these AA initialed “early” Moonrise images are there? . . . Try Google and eBay searches—there just aren’t any! This is one of my very favorite Adams photographs, but I'm told it wasn't a top seller, whichpartially explains the rarity of Moonrise from Glacier Point--especially this edition without the"Printed by Alan Ross" label. Image measures approximately: 7 1/2" W x 9 1”/2 mat measures approximately: 12.5 x 15” Apologies for the cellphone pictures. It did not handle the small pencil AA signature well, and when I tried to enhance it a bit, it only got worse--still light, and now grainy.
