This is a rare item - I have not found any others of its kind. The LOAS AU Jewel is Scottish. The ribbon bears the wording: GRAND ORDER OF PAST MASTERS although this is faded it can be easily made out. The Top Bar with Scottish also has the letters AU - the same letters AU also appear in the centre of the Jewel and stand for Ashton Unity. Ashton Unity was a benefit society founded in 1826 which later became the Loyal Order of Ancient shepherds. This Jewel, apart from the Scottish reference is unique and rare as it also refers to the GRAND ODER OF PAST MASTERS - as can be seen on the Jewel ribbon. This is a super piece of Fraternal Order / Fraternal Jewel history, very rare and hard to find for a number of reasons combining all the elements as described: LOAS, AU, GOPM, Scottish etc. This is a superb item with ribbon, jewel and pin all intact and in great condition for its age and comes in a protective plastic cover. The medal / jewel is pre-owned but in excellent clean condition. The Ribbon is in good order but the wording on the ribbon GRAND ORDER OF PAST MASTERS is faded as can be seen in the photos.
