RARE SPIRELLA 1930s Corselette Peach Satin VTG Corset Girdle 27 Waist XS 28DDD?

Description: Elegant vintage 1930s Spirella corselette in remarkably nice condition, made in Niagara Falls, NY. The entire front of the corselette is made of a robust corsetry satin. They don't make them like this anymore! Front panels are joined by a fine fagot stitch. The side panels are elasticated and still have stretch. The back panel is made from an even more lustrous corsetry satin, also joined by a fagot stitch down the middle. There is an elastic gusset in the front for ease of movement. The top of the bra portion is made of a fine embroidered net. The corselette is fastened by hooks and eyes under a robust zipper, and it has spiral steel boning (Spirella's signature) on the front, sides, and back. There is a luxury plush panel under the zipper for comfort. There are repairs on the top edges under the armpits, and the garter tabs have been replaced at some point, possibly in the 1950s. They are somewhat too long for the metal clasps. They should be of the button style, not rubberized. The front garters are adjustable. The shoulder straps are removable, fastened by mother-of-pearl buttons, if you intend to wear the corselette under a strapless dress. There are some minor loose threads and age spots. Be aware that the bra portion has no stretch at all, unlike a modern bra. According to a modern bra sizing calculator, it is a 28DDD. Almost all Spirella corsets were custom-made garments. Imagine the lady that wore this back in the 1930s graceful and refined, perhaps a little vain? She, or her husband, spared no expense for this custom corselette. She was likely fitted in her living room by a trained and experienced saleswoman. She certainly would have been stunner at any dinner party, and so can you.
