A very, very special release from Rocky to commemorate his 50th birthday, the box was designed and made to be commensurate with such an important milestone for Rocky and indeed the company with his name on it. An extremely well-made box, solid and heavy with a seal that would allow it to be used as a short-term humidor on a desk or bartop if you added a simple humidifier. Looks like it would hold about 20 toro sized cigars.A solid wood box, with an exceptionally high-gloss finish. the wood appears to be a macassar-like wood, and the lid has a beautiful brass plate with the famous Rocky Patel logo with embedded ruby-like gems (not real Rubys guys!). The plate is embedded into the wood, so is flush with the lid exterior, not on top of it. This collectors item empty cigar box, measures 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 x 2 inches, with 3/4 thick walls which include the solid Spanish cedar core, plus the 1/4 inch thick red leather covered internal edging accent which lines the interior walls.The cigar box lid is secured with sensational gold colored hinge hardware. The interior lid is lined with red leather which holds another brass plate again with the iconic Rocky Patel logo and embedded ruby-like gems. The underside base is lined with black felt. A truly rare find for any fan of Rocky Patel cigars, or the avid cigar box collector. We don't see these available anywhere else now. We've stored them all these years on a safe dry storeroom shelf, in perfect condition. They come packaged in multiple levels - First a classy black velvet bag with drawstrings with the Rocky Patel logo printed on it. Second in a clean-white dress-box packaging box, and finally in an exterior Rocky Patel branded shipping box.
