This piece depicts one of the characters Aramis from the French historical adventure novel "The Three Musketeers" who leaves home travelling to Paris in hopes to join the Musketeers of the Guard who is befriended by three formidable musketeers of the age - Athos, Porthos and Aramis who "inseparables" become involved in affairs of states and at court. The novel was based upon the life of D'Artagnan and later Count D'Artagnan (c. 1611 – 25 June 1673), a French Musketeer who served Louis XIV as captain of the Musketeers of the Guard. Made in England and in excellent vintage condition.
