Description: Serbia copper 10 para 1868/6 struck over 1866 - medal rotation (not turned) - KM 3 ; NGC UNC Details - Altered color. Superb coin without any defects but altered color. Ex. PCGS UNC Details - Questionable color, as I resubmited the coin also to NGC. Please check the last photo, with the ticket from the PCGS Holder. Exceedingly RARE type, ONLY 2 KNOWN. Product of an early Vienna mint error, as it was struck with a year 1866 instead of first year of issue 1868. When they noticed the mistake they repunched the early minuscule quantity and hence created a rarity. Virtually unknown for last 150 years and so UNLISTED in all major world and local catalogs. Both NGC and PCGS agreed that color was altered, but nevertheless in my opinion coin is still very beautiful and has a very high grade details is fully struck and no contact marks. In my opinion would grade extremely high, MS 63 or better if not for the Altered color. No hairlines or any other defects. RARE type. It appeared in the newest edition of KM catalog, but both known specimens are medal rotation, not coin rotation. This confirms the early mint error, as first coins were struck as medal rotation, but later on they changed to coin rotation, because people disliked the idea that the ruler was upside down when turning the coin.
