About the Author- ABOUT THE AUTHOR: R. A. Fisher (18901962) was an English Statistician and biologist who used mathematics to combine Mendeliangenetics and natural selection. This helped to create the new Darwinist synthesis of evolution known as the modern evolutionary synthesis. He was also a prominent eugenicist in the early part of his life, Fisher worked for six years as a Statistician in the city of London and taught Physics and Maths at a sequence of Public school and at the Themes Nautical Training College where he settled with his new bride. In 1919 he began working at Rothamsted Research. His fame grew and he began to travel and lecture widely. In 1931, he spent six weeks at the Statistical Laboratory at Lowa State college where he gave three lectures per week, and met many American Statisticians. In 1937, he visited the Indian Statistical Institute in Calcutta. Fisher emigrated to Australia where he spent time as a senior research fellow at the Australian common wealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Adelaide, where he died in 1962.
