Description: 1999 Stipula Etruria Amber Brown Celluloid Limited Edition Fountain Pen #1631. 18k Fine nib. Vermeil cap band and clip (stamped), I assume the clip is vermeil as well but it is NOT stamped as such. Paperwork shows purchase date 9/15/99 from Art Brown, NYC. Professionally inspected and tested by my hand at Pentiques.com: this pen had been filled prior, emptied and stored properly. When we received the piece there were signs of residual ink on the feed. We test filled the pen using water, minimal residual ink was expelled. The seal is in perfect working order, the mechanism operates as designed with slight initial resistance. NOTE: - the factory sealant (red in color) used to seal the nib assembly is visible - see image. We chose NOT to apply heat to vintage celluloid to disassemble the nib unit and lubricate the mechanism. It should operate more smoothly after filling and use as ink will lubricate it a bit.
