Description: Hi Friends, Offered for sale is a Strange Specimen Heavy Hematite In Fossil Limestone E. Kansas River 137 Grams. This is an old piece of river washed limestone which has a lot of iron hematite mineral in it making it heavier then regular limestones. How the mineral iron got into the limestone is somewhat mysterious; but perhaps it was next to an iron source in the river for a long time or was close to an ancient meteorite strike or volcanic event. There are many fossils seen in this stone especially if use magnifier, although hematite obscures some of the surface. The hematite in this makes it heavier then most stones of this size. This stone was found in the East Kansas River area. This limestone contains lots of iron hematite but does not stick to a magnet as hematite is not aligned to magnetism as magnetite iron is. This stone is good for collection, study, display, or other purpose. The stone pictured is the one you will receive. *This stone weighs 137 grams and measures about 65mm by 45mm by 26mm. **USA FREE SHIPPING ***INTERNATIONAL- Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, etc.-shipping is $10 for the 1st item, and free (combining single invoice in shopping cart before payment) shipping for additional items purchased after the first item won or ordered in cart.
