Description: I found this from an estate sale with many other items from Eastern and Eastern European countries. I saw a couple of these harvesting pots (used for watering) online and one was sold in Hungary and the other said it was made in Hungary. There is a rattle inside apparently used for cleaning the jug. It is hand painted and apparently from the 1910s. It’s a beautiful piece, perfect for a rustic or farmhouse decor and for serving clean, crisp water when having a get together. It is in good condition. See photos for details and approximate measurements. This vintage possibly Hungarian clay terracotta jug is a beautiful piece of primitive stoneware. It was likely used for harvesting and has spouts for easy pouring. The multi-color design adds to its charm, and the finish gives it an authentic feel, some parts seem to be glazed and others unglazed. Its exact date of creation is unknown, but its originality is certain. Made of terracotta clay, it is a unique piece of pottery likely from the region of Hungary.
