Anyways ... to truly appreciate this book, one needs to know that "Popular Library" was a mass producer of PULP NOVELS that often objectified women in the stories they presented, and that the Author of this book (Sylvia Townsend Warner) would have been ABSOLUTELY OPPOSED to 99% of the early books they published. Additionally, by the time this book was printed "Popular Library" was nearing demise, and not producing as much product as they had in their heyday.
