Description: An Original print by the famous artist Thelma Winter! Signed 1/100. Sold as shown! Thelma Winter (Born 1931) first picked up a paintbrush and began to create beautiful scenes of the world around her at the age of 53. She had virtually no instruction or training. In 1982, she gathered courage and her paintings and set up at her first art show at the Allentown Art Festival. All her 24 paintings that she brought with her sold that weekend. It was rewarding and exciting when she realized how well her work was received. She spent the next over 20 years traveling the country exhibiting at art shows from Florida to Vermont. The joy that her paintings brought both others and herself encouraged her to invest more energy, effort and time into showing and creating her works of art. She travels long distances in search of beautiful gardens, covered bridges, barns, old homes, etc., being especially conscious of backgrounds, seasons and light quality.Thelma also spends many hours pouring over the 1000s of slides she has taken to choose her subjects. Over the years, her paintings have earned her much recognition- several Best of Shows, dozens of ribbons, and the prestigious Purchase Award at Buffalo’s Allentown Art Festival. She says that her favorite part of it all will always be the time she spends creating her newest watercolor painting. She has shown her work at the highly acclaimed Long’s Park Show in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the National Arts for the Parks Exhibit in Wyoming, the Salmagundi Club in New York City, the Festival of the Masters in Disney World, and hundreds of other exhibitions throughout the northeast.
