Description: This uniform appears to have been dressed up for a movie costume. The jacket and trousers were manufactured by the Seagoing Uniform Company “in accordance with applicable U.S.N. uniform regulations,” according to a tag (see photos). Also:sorry about the photos; lighting is tough on an all-white item. Most accurate photos were taken in daylight from the window. In a perfect world I would have a handy mannikin to properly show the uniform. “Seagoing Uniform has been a long term manufacturer of regulation utility uniforms used by the United States Navy from 1946 until 2010.” Made by Polkton Mfg. Co., Inc., a US company doing business as Seagoing Uniform. The mandarin “choker” collar is a hook and eye closure.Neck measures 16 ½” Material tags say 50% dacron polyester and 50% cotton. The ribbon rack is embroidered, which is not authorized wear at this time. The service dress white coat has no size tag or owner id. It measures 24” across pit-pit, so estimated size 42. Sleeve measures 24 ½” from shoulder seam to cuff. The trousers have no tag but measure a 36” waist with a 31 ½” inseam and about an inch to let down. Please note that there is a small dot ( ½” x ¼” approx.) of a light brown stain on the right (wearer’s right) pocket, and a larger similar stain on the right elbow. Possibly they can be removed but they did not come out with a simple wash. Please see photos. The uniform is not brand new but is in good previously owned condition. In all, still a cool costume uniform. Please check out photos and feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!!
