Description: VERY RARE! I acquired this set 24 years ago and have searched for other matching pieces since but have not found even one item for sale. I have also tried researching many hotels and restaurants with the name Vendome but have not found a match. Shenango manufactured dinnerware for hotels and restaurants from 1913 to 1991. They were located in New Castle, Pennsylvania. There was a Hotel Vendome in New Castle once that was sold to the city's Rescue Mission in 1924. Since Shinango manufactured large quantities of dinnerware for hotels, restaurants and institutions all over the world (including the White House), it is hard to say whether or not there is a connection.
