Description: VERY EARLY UNDATED CIRCA 18th CENTURY MAP OF NORTH / SOUTH AMERICA & UNITED STATES Measures 4" x 4 3/4" in size. Possibly came out of a book. Back side is blank. Appears to be 18th Century based on the odd spellings and nomenclature and lack of certain States within the area of the United States. No Sandwich Islands is shown. California is called "NEW ALBION" and Oregon is called "SNAKE INDIANS." Texas is identified only as CHOCKTAWS." Then a "ROCK MOUNTAIN" is shown north of where Texas would be. Most areas are named after Native American Indian tribes and not named as states. Minor wear and staining is consistent with age and use but overall displays nicely.
