The rounded white flowers are shaped like snowballs and give this species its other common name, Fragrant Snowball Bush. Korean Spice Viburnum is easy to grow under most conditions and naturally develops a compact form with attractive leaves which turn red in the fall. Any pruning should be done in early summer as winter pruning can reduce the number of flowers produced in the spring. 'Carlcephalum' is a hybrid variety of Viburnum carlesii which blooms a few weeks later and is more fragrant than the typical species. Most states require that all the soil be washed away from the roots for field grown plants which also gives us the opportunity to trim the roots into good form.
