This is the incredibly rare THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN Horror Creature Make-up Kit, briefly released in 1978 by Imagineering (Vampire Blood / Scar Stuff) and also sold through FM’s Captain Company. The contents are as basic and simple as the movie plot was, but the simplicity of it is so cool and the large box art & original Rick Baker makeup are epic. There were 2 versions of this box and I always preferred this one. The back of the box shows 3 separate stages the character was supposed to be going through. That continuity was ultimately cut from the film, but the graphics here are crazy cool. Box measures over 16" wide. The other version of this box back has a kid in the makeup which is the same images as on the instruction sheet. Contents are mint unused. Under the tray is a flesh colored skull cap and instruction sheet. There is some box wear on the flaps etc, but the colors are bright and clean and fantastic. The thin vacuform tray holding the contents have some small cracks on the edge. Very very hard to find. This is out of my personal collection and I literally searched decades to find one in this nice complete condition.
