Description: For your consideration is an extremely rare 10kt yellow gold Ostby Barton gents ring. This ring depicts the fraternal organization "The Maccabees". This organization was started in the late 1800"s in order to help people to get insurance. This ring is a one of a kind possibly from the 1920"s era. This ring has been extremely well taken care of and the enamel is in great condition. It is tarnished from age and needs a good polishing and I will leave that up to the buyer. The enamel on the front of the ring depicts the Maccabees emblem with a globe with a white tent in the center. There are enameled designs bordering this center. This ring is a true gem for the collector of historical memorabilia. It was manufactured by the famous company Ostby Barton, renowned for their workmanship. Tragically, Mr. Ostby perished on the Titanic, returning from a jewelry buying trip to Europe with his daughter. His daughter survived and helped to carry on the famous jewelry tradition. The ring measures 12mm at front center and tapers to 3.7mm at the back. It measures size 10. The ring weighs 5.80 grams or 3.70 dwt. It is stamped inside OB 10kt. This ring will make an excellent addition to your jewelry collection. Good luck bidding.
