Description: This chair is beautiful, and has been in my family for as long as I can remember. Its hand carved walnut frame is clearly influenced by the Art Nouveau decorative motifs. The needlepoint embroidery contains traditional floral and grape vine elements, and is somewhat faded, but not especially worn considering its age. The velvet back is vivid but seems to be traditional in this style of chairs. The Walnut this chair is built from is gorgeous, with some "flame" highlights visible. The seat bottom appears to have been re-stuffed by my great aunt who owned this, before it passed to my grandmother and then my mother.
