Description: Vintage Golden Age Comic Books, Choice From 4 Comics from 1949. By the Catechetical Guild Educational Society, Fine Condition, Art by Pat McQuire The artist for these comics was Pat McGuire. I can't really find much about him, but he was certainly talented, the illustrations are beautiful. These are quite collectible because of their age and the limited publication by the Catechetical Guild. The Guild published 117 different religious comics called Topix between 1946 and 1952. Their most famous publication was a comic from 1947 illustrated by Charles Schulz of Charlie Brown fame. This book was called Is This Tomorrow and it predicted American being taken over by Communism. You can read it online. I didn't pay much attention to the text, but the illustrations are wonderful. October 24, 1949 is called The Great Sorcerer October 31, 1949 is the Halloween Issue November 7, 1949 is a Cowboy Behind a Rock November 14, 1949 is Horses Escaping From a Fire
