There are the A-B-A engines and five cars including the end observation car. The train runs and has no issues. The set does not include the OEM transformer or 027 track because that has been replaced by 2 extra cars which take up the space. Any enterprising owner might want to remove the 2 extra cars and replace the transformer and tracks which would be easy.
