Description: This is a rare dress/ ceremonial sword from the Grand Commandery of Texas. It is inscribed on the blade with the name B.H. Hornsby. Sword is in overall great condition. It has a few small spots on the blade and scabbard. Blade still has some of the gold gilding around the filigree on the blade itself that has not been worn off. Overall blade length is 28 1/4 inches. Full length with handle and pummel is 35 1/4 inches. Complete length in the scabbard is 37 inches. Sword is ornate in decoration all over from the blade to the pummel and bone style handle, scabbard is just as ornate with matching designs. Sword is made by C. E. Ward Co. New London, O. Also included is 3 cases. 1 is imprinted with B.H. Hornsby Dallas, Texas and is made of leather. It does have some stitching issues where some have come out but can be repaired. The other 2 cases appear to be homemade. One is made from flannel and the other from fleece and is lined with a zipper. Lastly are 2 additional items as pictured. A pin with the Texas flag and inscribed with The Grand Commandery of Texas centennial 1855-1955. Also, a Bolo tie with a cross and crowns and inscriptions as pictured. These items would make a great addition for any collectors. With very minimal flaws and all the extras.
