The only time this watch was handled in the past 10 years was for the photographs in this listing. I purchased this watch many years ago from the estate of a gentleman who had a retail shop for 50 years and was an expert watch maker. Note the watch is not running and I have taken no photographs of the movement as it appears the case back has never been removed and honestly I was not willing to even attempt it for fear of marking the case. The hands move freely and time can be set however the watch appears to be fully wound. I expect the original oils have dried given the watch is nearly 80 years of age. The Venus 170 chronograph movement was a high grade Swiss movement from the period and used by many renowned watch makers including Breitling & Heuer. The watch features all steel 3-piece pressed case, 2 vertical registers and copper tone dial and matching Arabic numerals. Obviously service will be required and priced accordingly however I doubt there are many if any finer examples of this watch in existence. Please see all images as they form part of the description.
