Description: Archival vintage HELMUT LANG black moleskin Astro Moto coat. Size Eur 52 or US 42. Made in Italy. Super Rare.New condition. Never worn. A/W 1999-2000 is seen by many as one of Helmut Lang's most groundbreaking seasons, whose directional pieces are just as relevant today as when they were designed. Inspired by astronaut uniforms, motorcycle safety gear and rave subcultures, Lang created a subversively elegant and uncompromisingly modern universe that has since then inspired a long list of designers. Being the collection's signature pieces, biker-inspired garments were worn by both men and women in many runway looks. This substantial coat exhibits many of the season's distinctive details, while its interior is finished with Lang's iconic bondage leg straps. The parka has a semi-fitted cut, with narrow shoulders and a straight body. The sleeves have an engineered construction that follows the shape of the arms, creating an aggressive silhouette while allowing for easy movement. The front closes with a concealed zipper and buttons, leading to an aggressive funnel neck with a large velcro strap. Biker-inspired stitching decorates the elbows, while the cuffs are finished with zippers. The parka is realized in Lang's signature black moleskin cotton fabric. The construction of the piece is wonderfully detailed: Wire reinforcement on the neckline can be used to significantly alter its shape, while velcro pieces secure the collar when worn down.
