Description: Antique 1902 Edward VII Coronation Plate w Queen Alexandra Cobalt Blue, Mint condition , no cracks, scratches or stains. This is a wonderful cobalt blue glazed porcelain plate issued to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII of England. The plate has a transfer printed image of Edward and Queen Alexandra along with the British Royal Coat of Arms. There are no dots in the image, so the transfer looks like hand painting. The plate is also decorated with gold detail and trimmed in gold on the edge. It has open handles, so is meant to act as a serving plate or probably - cake plate, but one wouldn’t really use this for that purpose. It measures 9 1/2” by 10” and is in very clean condition with no chips, cracks or even wear to the gold decoration. I’ve seen this offered as a normal plate, but I haven’t seen it with open handles like this, so it is not common. Plate has couple of marks and certainly British origin . Very intricate work - lovely example in beautiful condition - nice addition to a Royalty collection!
