Description: I have up for sale a wonderful antique - last patent date February 12, 1901 - Waterbury Round Dial Face Carriage Alarm Clock. It comes from the collection of a local couple who collected small clocks their entire adult lives and wrote a book about small clocks entitled, " Small Clock Tickertape on Collecting Miniature and Novelty Clocks" by Louise Dworatschek. Her husband Steve did the photography and sold at shows for many years. This clock was from their private collection and is shown on page 20 , plate 52 of the book- priced at $350 and Up . The book was published in 2000. Both has since passed on . There is some wear / loss to the gold finish , looks worse in my pics than in real life but its noted. Its sounds like there is a screw or something loose inside the movement as when I shake the clock I can hear it . When I was trying to adjust the slow / fast I pushed the lever all the way to the right but it went beyond where I can retrieve it so you will have to address that yourself. It runs slow and needs to be adjusted - I suggest that you have a professional service the clock not only for this but also because its been sitting unused up till now and the screw or what ever it is that is jiggling around inside the movement should be taken care of . The dial face is very nice , its paper . The crystal is the original beveled glass type. The case appears to be brass with a gold tone plating . The plating or finish is worn in spots as noticed in my pics. The clock runs but has not been tested for accuracy . I pushed the Slow /Fast all the way over to the slow but it seems to have gone past the opening and I am not sure how to pull it back . With that said , its an estate clock and I have no idea as to when it was last serviced, so in the least the movement should be cleaned and oiled. When I first got the clock I could here what sounded like something loose inside but I no longer here it , so I am not sure what happened. The clocks stands approx 3-1/2" tall without the handle and the stepped base measures approx 3" across by 2-1/8" deep . The backside of the clock is deeper as it has the knobs for setting and winding.
