Description: Hard one to find. A rare Western Cutlery, Boulder Colorado made Bushman Bx54 also known as a WW2 era V44 bailout survival machete that was included in the survival kits of fighter planes in the Pacific theatre of WW2. While issued by the Army air corp and Marine air corp they were also very popular with several specialized units like the Marine Raider units or any one that was lucky enough to procure one. This example is extremely rare because of its excellent condition and very well preserved original leather sheath. Both the knife and leather sheath are in great condition with the knife showing signs of light use and touch ups to the blade edge. The sheath shows mainly storage wear. The leather is still flexible and not dry rotted. Finding a better example would be a very hard one to find, if even possible. This knife will make an excellent show piece in any collection.
