Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary USPS Forever Stamps NEAR MINT

Description: One of my favorite childhood superheroes, Wonder Woman, is turning 75 this year (she doesn’t look a day over 25), and to celebrate the beloved character’s birthday, DC Entertainment and the U.S. Postal Service have joined forces to produce a new line of Wonder Woman Forever Stamps in honor of the Amazon Princess’ 75th anniversary. Newsarama reports that DC All Access host Tiffany Smith, USPS art director Greg Breeding, USPS Chief Information Officer Kristen Seaver, DC Entertainment Senior VP of Global Franchise Management Sandy Yi and DC Comics artists Cliff Chiang and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez were on hand at New York Comic Con this morning to make the announcement during an official ceremony and unveil the new line of stamps to the assembled press. As you can see in the gallery below, the stamps illustrate the evolution of William Moulton Marston's iconic character over the years, from the be-skirted 1940s Golden Age version illustrated by Jon Blummer, through the Silver Age by Irv Novick, Bronze Age by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Modern Age by Cliff Chiang. USPS’s Kristen Seaver said: “In 1941, when Wonder Woman debuted in All-Star Comics #8, America was a very different place — especially for women. There was no equal pay, no recourse for gender discrimination in the workplace... it would be decades before there was a female CEO of a Fortune 500 company. [But today] women have made historic inroads with an explosion of bachelors degrees, doctorates, and strides in the employment workplace,” adding that “What girl didn't want to be the woman warrior of the Amazon? Travel to foreign lands? Use a Golden Lasso of Truth to save the world? She gave girls the wherewithal to take flight and dream as big as anyone. Wonder Woman confidently brushed aside any notion of gender barrier — her power was in her fierce independence.” And that’s truly the strength and beauty of Wonder Woman’s long-lasting legacy.
