WW2 U.S. 1st Infantry Division / ETO Advanced Base "Ike" Uniform ~ Normandy!

Description: Original WW2 1st Infantry Division and ETO Advanced Base (officially known as HQ, European Theater of Operations, US Army Communication Zone, or COM-Z) uniform. This uniform, or "Ike" jacket, was worn by a combat infantryman as evident by his Combat Infantryman Badge. The veteran's ribbon bar includes the American campaign, ETO ribbon with Assault Arrowhead, 1 silver and 1 bronze battle star (6 battles), and a Victory ribbon. To the right breast is a Presidential Unit Citation with Oak Leaf.To the jackets lower left sleeve are 5 overseas bars denoting 2 1/2 - 3 years of overseas duty. Beneath this is a hash mark for 3 years of service. The 6 battle stars shows that this veteran was with the 1st Infantry Division early in the war participating in the Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe CampaignsOn June 15, 1945 the 9th US Army (including the 1st ID) transferred all of its assets to COM-Z. This is why this veteran wears the COM-Z patch.Why is this veteran just a Private? Well, he was probably busted down for bad behavior, thus no Good Conduct Medal. The screw back U.S. infantry collar discs and Combat Infantryman Badge was carefully chosen and restored by me. They were placed into the original holes. All other insignia is untouched.
